The SIC has indicated that the processing of personal data requires prior, express and informed consent, and that privacy notices do not replace said authorization.

a. Essential or strictly necessary cookies
These are those essential for the website to function correctly and to allow basic functions such as navigation, site security, session management or the provision of services requested by the user.
These cookies do not usually require an optional action by the user for their activation when they are necessary for the provision of the requested service.
b. Functional cookies
These are cookies that allow us to remember certain preferences or customizations, in order to improve the user experience on the site.
c. Performance or analytical cookies
These are cookies that help us understand how users interact with the website, what pages they visit, how long they stay on them, what content generates greater interest and what aspects can be improved. The SIC uses this same classification of performance cookies to collect aggregate data on the use of its sites and improve its services.
d. Marketing or advertising cookies
These are cookies that can be used to personalize content, measure campaigns or show relevant advertising according to the user's interests, when applicable. If Orfebrería Rodríguez were to use this type of cookies, their activation will be subject to the user's authorization when legally required. 5. Use of Google Analytics 4
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a Google web analytics tool that allows us to obtain statistical information about the navigation and use of the site, such as pages visited, interactions, approximate duration of the session, aggregated device data or general user behavior.
According to official Google documentation, GA4 JavaScript tags use its own cookies to distinguish unique users and sessions of the same user. Cookies that may be used by GA4 include:
• _ga: used to distinguish users and has a default duration of 2 years.
• _ga_: used to preserve session state and has a default duration of 2 years.
Google also indicates that when analytics storage is disabled using Consent Mode, Analytics does not store the client identifier in the _ga cookie. Likewise, Google explains that Consent Mode allows data collection to be adjusted according to the user's consent, but does not itself provide the banner or consent capture mechanism.
6. User consent
When the use of cookies involves processing of personal data subject to authorization, Orfebrería Rodríguez will request the user's prior, express and informed consent through the mechanism enabled on the website.
Acceptance of cookies cannot be validly inferred from silence, from pre-marked boxes, from the user's inaction or from deceptive mechanisms. The SIC has reiterated that these forms do not constitute valid consent under Law 1581 of 2012.

The user may manage their cookie preferences through the banner, panel or configuration tool enabled by Orfebrería Rodríguez, when available.
